Miu Sakamoto (????), born May 1, 1980, is a Japanese vocalist. She is the daughter of Akiko Yano, a famed Japanese jazz-pop artist and composer, and Ryuichi Sakamoto, who is an Academy Award-, Grammy-, and Golden Globe-winning Japanese musician, composer, record producer and actor, and former member of legendary Japanese electropop band YMO (Yellow Magic Orchestra). Born in Tokyo, Japan, but growing up in New York, Sakamoto developed a worldly aptitude from a young age, and is fluent in English. Her musical style can be described as very ethereal, dreamy pop.
