Shanti Snyder is a Japanese/French lyricist, singer, and songwriter, frequently appearing with her father (Tommy Snyder) in the band "Snyder’s Market".
Shanti has been active in the Japanese music industry for over 10 years, writing lyrics and singing for jingles and film music. She has also written for many well known artists there, Toku, Marleen, Take 6, and her voice is known world wide due to her collaborations with Yoko Kanno for various animated films. Recently (June '08) a song Shanti sings and co-wrote with Yoshizawa Hajime, called "Home, " was #1 for a short time on iTunes in Japan. The song was used for a commercial in Japan. The CD was released in August, in Japan under the composer's name: Yoshizawa Hajime.
Ms. Snyder is a frequent lyricist and vocalist for commercials under the CM label GRAND FUNK Studio, recording songs and narrations for businesses such as Coca-Cola, Tokyo Disney Resort, Xerox and more. She is also a talented artist and mostly does mural work on her free time.
She has appeared on stage as a background vocalist with a variety of top artists and since 2003 has been performing on her own. Share My Air is her debut album, recorded in Paris with some of France's top musicians.
Since October 2008, Shanti is the co-host of J-Melo, a music program produced by NHK, and broadcast in 180 countries. From time to time, Shanti also performs on this show. See the "J-Melo-" link below.
Shanti is also an acomplished artist and has already done a few exhibitions of her work.
Shanti co-wrote 5 songs on Toku's New Album "Love Again" including "Again," a duet with Toku and "Exile " vocalist Atsushi.
